Launched in 2015, the Helena Kennedy Centre has developed an exceptionally strong portfolio of research, teaching and knowledge exchange activity relating to law, criminology, human rights and social justice. HKC’s research underpins SHU’s Unit of Assessment 20 Social Work and Social Policy submission to REF2021 and we are focused on growing quantity, quality and impact of our work both nationally and internationally.
We are seeking a Research Professor to support our research development and research expertise in Criminology and/or Social Justice to act as a beacon of excellence in your chosen field. You will have an established research profile and clear research agenda that will ensure you make a substantial contribution to the Centre’s research income, publication and impact profile in line with the University’s ambitions. Alongside enhancing the reputation of HKC, you will contribute to the continuous development of our research staff and research culture.
You must have a an internationally recognised research profile, Evidence of high quality peer reviewed research publications at 3* and above that can be returned in REF 2027 and a doctorate or equivalent academic standing. You must also have outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with people from wide ranging and diverse backgrounds.
