The Faculty of Law, University of Copenhagen (UCPH), invites applications for one or more positions as Professor of Law with special emphasis on the following research areas:

  • General Jurisprudence, Sociology of Law and Philosophy of Law
  • Dispute Mediation
  • Criminology

The positions are linked to research, teaching and administrative obligations. The positions are to be filled 1 April 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Recruitment needs for the position:

The call is aimed at recruiting one or more professors who can contribute to the development of research and teaching within several compulsory subjects as well as related electives at five study programmes at the faculty.

Applicants must have a research profile and teaching experience.

It is a prerequisite that the applicant can teach the above-mentioned subjects/programmes, and it is also a clear advantage if the applicant, based on his/her teaching experience, can document the ability to teach widely on the faculty's study programmes within his/her subject areas.

Please notice that these subjects are taught in Danish. Applicants are therefore expected to either be able to teach in Danish at the time of the application, or to acquire proficiency in Danish that will make it probable that the applicant will be able to teach in Danish within 3-6 years. The faculty actively supports that those employees who at the time of employment do not have any further experience with Danish (or any other Scandinavian language) in writing or speech are enabled to acquire these abilities.
